About our Events

Rob Roy has organised events on the Cam for many years, but the history of the Cambridge Small Boats Head and the Cambridge Autumn Head have their roots in the 1960s and 1970s.

The Rob Roy Cambridge Small Boats Head began as the Cam Sculling Championship, and was first run in 1966. By 1976 this had become the Scullers Head of the Cam, and was run in early November.

The Rob Roy Cambridge Autumn Head was originally run for fours only, and began in October 1974. By 1976 this was still for fours only, and was named the Autumn Fours Head.
